Exotic Fruits

These are some exotic fruits, I enjoyed in Maldives, Sri Lanka and India.

  1. Rambutan

This is a Tropical Fruit, like Lychee. This fruit is native to Malay- Indonesia, but its found in South eastern Asia. This fruit has a lot of health benefits, some of the important once are good source of Iron, helps in decreasing fat, helps boost energy, strengthen bones, helps boost immunity and decrease diseases, helps in treating diabetes. Rambutan tastes so much like lychee, the big difference between both are that the Rambutan has a thick skin on top and the pulp is comparatively lesser than the lychee.

 

2) Fresh Dates

These fresh dates from Palm trees. I love trying new fruits. I went to this vendor on the road side in my home town and he had all of these exotic fruits and I looked this and asked him fruit this was and he mentioned to be Fresh Dates and I wanted to try it immediately. Fresh dates do not taste anything like the dark dried dates. If you allow the fresh date to ripen , then they taste somewhat like the dry dates. We all know dates has a huge source of iron and calcium.

 

3) Mangosteen

I was very curious to find out how this fruit would taste. And so I started peeling the skin of this fruit, it has a very thick skin and a small fruit inside it. The fruit taste a little sweet and sour. Mangosteen is a Tropical fruit and its called as a Super fruit because of its antioxidant level.

4) Custard Apple

This is another fruit I enjoyed very much in India. This fruit is filled with antioxidants and Vitamin C. It helps to fight many disease and improve the immune system.

 

5) Jamun

I enjoy this fruit very much, I have already spoken about this fruit in my previous post called Tropical Fruits I enjoyed in India .

 

 

6) Nongu (Borassus flabellifer)

This is a Tropical fruit and its native to Indian Subcontinents and South east Asia. If you need more info you could check out this link https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Borassus_flabellifer. The fruit is sweet and has some liquid in it. It’s very popular in summer.
