Baby potatoes – 1/2 pound
Red chilly powder – 1/4 tablespoon
Turmeric powder 1/4 tablespoon
Mustard seeds
Channa dhal
Salt to taste
Olive oil
Step-1
Take Baby Potatoes, like shown in the picture and wash them clean, before cutting so all the soil would be clean. Split the potatoes into half and make another half of the split potatoes, so they are bite size and easy to cook. After splitting the potatoes, soak them in water so extra starch would come out in the water. Drain the potatoes so when you put them in your frying pan that they don’t splatter on you.
Step-2
Take a Pan with a lid. Pour some olive oil into the pan. Add mustard seeds and split Chana dhal and one’s oil heats up the mustard will start to splatter, be careful because mustard seeds will start flying out of the pan , so reduce the flame. Once your split Chana dhal has changed color. You could add the cut potatoes to the pan.
Step- 3
After adding the cut potatoes into the pan, mix well with a spatula and cover the potatoes with the lid so they could cook well. Please keep checking the potatoes for it to be cooked from time to time.
Step-4
When potatoes is cooked well, you would see it roasting on both sides. you can add turmeric powder 1/4 tablespoon, Red chilly powder 1/4 tablespoon and salt to taste and mix well until raw flavor from turmeric and red chilly powder is gone. Try it with Rice and Rasam( best combination), Chapatti.
Looks delicious!
