Spicy Stew Rice(Spicy Pongal)
White Rice- 1 cup
Lentil – 1/2 cup
Jeer- 1 teaspoon
Black Pepper- 1 tea-spoon
Green chillies- 4
Mustard seeds – 1 teaspoon
Take a cup of white Basmathi Rice and 1/2 cup of lenthil as shown in the picture. Make sure to pressure cook the rice and lenthil and set aside to cool.
Take mustard, Jeera, Black Pepper and Cashew and set aside. Make sure you crush the Black pepper.
Take piece of ginger and clean and cut them into pieces along with green chillies and curry leaves.
Take a medium size pan and add oil. Add mustard, cashew, jeera and saute them after the cashew turn golden color, then add chopped green chillies, ginger and curry leaves and saute them. Add required salt.
Take the cooked white rice and lentil and add it to the pan.
After adding the rice and lentil, mix well and add a large cup of water and allow the mixture to boil. Then add the crushed pepper to the stew.
When all the water evapourates and the mixtures is thick add the chopped up fresh cilantro and sever hot.
You could enjoy this with a sambhar or chutney. Add some Ghee on the top to enjoy it.
If you don’t take diary products you could skip the ghee and still enjoy.
