Rava Kesari ( sweet)
Ingredients
White Rava – 1/2 cup
Dry Cashew- 3 tablespoon
Dry Grapes – 2 tablespoon
Sugar – 1/2 cup
Oil – 3 tablespoon
Ghee – 2 tablespoon
Water – 2 cups
Food coloring – pinch
Cardamom seeds – 1 teaspoon
Saffron – pinch
Step -1
Make sure to use White Rava for this item. You will get Roasted White Rava. If you don't get Roasted White Rava, then you get the regular one and have to dry roast( means don't add any oil to the pan) and roast the Rava until you see it turning a slight red color. Once roasted set it aside in a bowl or plate to cool.
Step-2
Take cashew, dry grapes, food coloring and cardamom set it aside.
Step-3
Take a medium pan and pour oil and ghee as mentioned above in ingredients. Once the oil and ghee warms up add cashew and dry grapes and sauté until cashew's are turn light brown and dry grapes will bubble like shown in the picture.
Step-4
Add two cups of water and add the 1/2 cup of sugar. When water starts boiling add the cardamom and saffron in the water. Add the food coloring also along with the saffron.
Step-5
Add the roasted Rava into the boiling water and allow it to cook. When the Rava starts to cook the water will start evaporating . So please keep stirring the Rava until all water evaporates completely.
Step-6
When all water evaporates it should like the picture below. Then enjoy the Kesari.
