Tamil New Year 2017

Let me Start by wishing all my friends and family a very Happy and Prosperous Tamil New Year.

And now little bit of the history about the Tamil New Year, which is called as Puthandu. This is the first day of the year according to Tamil Calendar. This festival date is set as of the solar calendar. This date comes almost every year on April 14th.

Puthandu is celebrated by Tamil Hindus all over the world. On the eve of Puthandu a tray with fruits, betel leaves, flowers are arranged along with a mirror. All of the family gather around and pray to god for a peaceful, successful and prosperous New year.
